END OF AN ERA | TORONTO FRINGE
Friday July 8, 2016
I’m about to jet off to the UK for a few weeks but I want to remark on my past week or so at the Toronto Fringe Festival. I remember when I first started working in theatre and the Fringe Club had moved to the Honest Ed’s parking lot and that spot became the centralized hub for hangs, drinks, and parties during festival in July. With the impending closure of the iconic Honest Ed’s, this year will be the last year of that. Next year, Fringe Club will move to Scadding Court down the street and I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic.
Honest Ed’s Alley all lit up.
Last time this Toronto street corner will look like this.
I saw some great plays this year, notably Silk Bath by the Silk Bath Collective, watch out for them because this piece will come back. Happy Summer Everyone…
